I directed this promotional short film for the launch of a new exhibition about the inventor James Watt at London's Science Museum. Watt was instrumental in kicking off the Industrial Revolution and was also a prolific inventor. The Science Museum preserved his workshop after his death, and have just got all his 6000 objects out of storage and on to display. With access to this huge collection of stuff, I put this little film together, focussing on Watt's awesome 3d sculpture copying machines.

We were also especially lucky to have access to laser scan data of a never-before-seen James Watt bust. Rob Mckoen worked this up in 3DS max to look like a beautiful realistic stone carving that we used in the final film. It was also fun to do a couple of days of filming in the Science Museum archive, donning latex gloves and doing bits of stop motion and video.

The film has been screened at Rushes Soho Shorts festival and the London International Animation Festival
